Art & how to display it

What could be more personal than art?! It’s a great way to show what you are all about and individual style just can’t be copied.

Many people ask if art displays are just to show off expensive master pieces, but it couldn’t be further from reality. Of course, pieces by the grand masters should be displayed with pride but even if your budget is much more humble, you don’t have to refrain from showcasing your taste and style.

There are different options when it comes to art and how to display it and this can range from your own paintings, to art prints or modern originals by lesser known artists.

It’s really about what YOU like to look at and surround yourself with.

Whilst many people shy away from colour on their actual walls, art presents the opportunity to inject just that – colour! Whether you stick to a monochrome theme or create a rainbow, the possibilities with art are endless.

Look to pop art, abstracts, photographs, landscape paintings or up and coming new artist works. A lot of these are very affordable and can be real eye catchers.

Art can also be showcased in different ways. Depending on your interior scheme you have the option between canvas artworks, framed pieces or even posters. It all depends on the mood and scheme you are trying to achieve. There are of course other ways to utilise art as well, with wall coverings being a great way to showcase large art pieces across entire walls.

Some other great ways to display art involve large single pieces, hung dramatically on an otherwise empty wall, these will often be canvas paintings at grand scale.

Gallery walls, to showcase a variety of different pieces, are another firm favourite. These can be especially impactful in smaller spaces such as hallways or staircases or above sofas.  The key with these is to not match them too much but combine different styles and even colours to create interest.

Art is very personal and we would always recommend to have a look at your current pieces before we would go out to find new ones to add to your collection. Curating an art collection can take many years and it’s all about finding the right piece to elevate your collection and take it to the next level.
